baby chicks
The robins' eggs have hatched. Here they are on day 1. As last year ... SO ugly! :)
Computer/electronics nightmares continue at work. Yesterday the internet went down, and we have had no success in restoring it. Still no word on repairs to the office Mac.
Thinking of buying an abacus and a typewriter ...

Computers are so yesterday. http://www.sliderule.ca/
I can't believe those eggs hatched! I've been feeling sorry for you because they looked so fractured and you were so optimistic.
I think that what appeared to be fractures was actually a straw in front of the eggs, creating a shadow.
Anyhow ... I'm glad to have gotten some baby chicks out of the deal! :)
Off to look at my brother's slide-rule page suggestion. :)
How many days apart was the picture with the "cracks" and the picture with the hatchlings? I'm thinking the cracks were the begining stages of the hatch.
It was four days difference. Does it take them that long to hatch out?
I tried to look it up in my bird encyclopedia but that wasn't covered. That does seem like too long for hatching. Boy it really did look like cracks though.

I guess they just didn't consider it worthy of research. Robins aren't exactly the most exotic birds out there. But I'm sure enjoying mine!
There was a broken egg on the porch, so she had originally laid 3.
