the importance of a sure foundation
I'm afraid my robin's construction efforts have come to naught. Soon after this picture, the nest came crashing down.
I do hope he tries again ... and possibly considers a move slightly to the left, so the curtain rod support will under-gird his efforts!
We had a beautiful sunny day today - with temps in the 70s. It was glorious! Everyone was walking around with the same happy, spring-giddy grin.

Ok, my thought at the first picture was not how cute but boy are you going to spend a lot of time scrubbing white stains this summer. However, if you really like the idea of them being right there you could probably prop the nest back up there yourself and move it over where it would stay better. They may still use it if you do it quickly enough. The whole human scent thing really won't matter. Have fun. Maria
Thanks Maria!
I didn't catch it in time - it crashed down, and became a pile of mud & twigs.
I know ... it's nutty ... but watching the birds is worth the scrubbing to me. :) I had some morning doves a few years ago nest in a hanging geranium, and I just loved watching them. (They, on the other hand, weren't overly fond of the arrangement.)
Poor disturbed morning doves!! =)
